I've just had the misfortune of loosing a flake of paint when parking my car in the confines of my garage
.
My car just failed it MOT so you could say that my mind was on other things
The nearside wheel arch came into contact with the sharp edge of my metal lockers and it has removed a
small area of paint and primer from this area to expose the metal.
Thankfully the arch isn't damaged in any way.
It's just too cold outside to properly apply primer, touchup paint + clear coat and my garage isn't heated.
My concern is that this may start rusting if I don't attend to it soon.
What can I do/apply to keep this area protected in the meantime until the weather improves?
I'm thinking I need something that's easy to apply and remove, how about a silicon spray or
would a silicon-based polish such as Autoglym be okay just to act as a water-repellant if nothing else?
Thanks,
Nuvo.
