Well ain't that something! Now the rumor is getting more...
to be fact than rumor! It seems there is a 95% probability that the windshields are one and the same! 
At least here in the States.
It also appears that the very same Cabbies also are using doors and regulators off the coupes. I can not speak for you owners in the UK but it seems that the PN#'s don't mean much between the 2 models in the States. Somebody here is even rumored to be intent to get a used glass and fit it too a Coupe to prove it.

The Cabriolet windshield is cut straight across the top.
The Coupe windshield curved at the top of the windshield and the ends are pointed.

Doors from the cabby are defo the same, chap on fans has both doors from a 1999 cabby on his 1991 coupe.
Whats the problem with getting windscreens in the USA then?
Or is this a cheaper than buying new exercise?

Windshield for Coupes in the states are a dealer only item. With only 1700+ in the states, not a lot of demand. Big $$ from the dealer. Interesting thing is, the windshield for my 914 is 1/3 the price of the coupe windshield and it is 17 years older.
