what about peugeot 206 grilles? i think it looks kool, and it is wide enough to make all the grilles out of it, also the bumper ones.

good idea ... i myself are looking into this!! ... can get mesh from halfords at £20
roughly 1 x 4 ft square... then i was gonna get an old grille like 80 or coupe and cut it up and attach the mesh ... then rings etc and badges ;p

These lower grills on this modified S2 bumper were done that way. There are small L brackets riveted on the back side to the bumper, holes drilled and tapped, and small screws used to hold the grills to the bumper. The heads of the machine screw were ground down to make them smaller.

This way the grills matched the hood grill material.

That White coupe looks lovely! If the grille look slike that then I'm well up for one! Powder coated for durability, de-(audi)badged with the S2 logo in the OE position. Good work Carl! Keep us posted on the where you get to.

Hi Andy.....good to talk to you at CC....you've uncovered an oldish thread here with the expanded metals details. I did get samples from the firm, still have them at home but my idea died a bit. It was if I remember about £55 for a huuuuge sheet, probably enough to do 12 grilles. The company supplies grilles to major car manufacturers. See you at the rolling road on Sunday, are you passing Worcester M5 Jn6 in the morning ?
