Rust !!

Not a big problem but I have a small patch of rust under the rear RS2 badge on the tailgate.
I guess a previous attempt at the badge is the cause. I had it repainted a couple of years back but (as you would expect) its back with a bubble or two on the outer side and a small area of rust on the inner aspect.
Are any of the rust treatments useful or should I just get it repainted again ?

Clearly the galvanisation has been damaged but is there a longterm solution ?

It is impossible to stop corrosion, you can only delay it. All metals want to revert back to their natural state unfortunately.

Ideally you'd need to remove all the corrosion, treat with a corrosion inhibitor, then primer and paint as per norm. That would give you the longest possible delay.

Also best to do this sooner rather than later! Rust is a PITA and should be dealt with straight away, even though everyone (inc. me) leaves it for ages hoping that it wil jsut go away

If you leave it long enough, it will go away. It'll rust away to nothing!
