    Headlight refitting

OK so I have started to do the odd job on the car myself. MAF, PCV, and last night the DV.
All well and good however I am finding it hard to get the headlight lined up again with the bonnet. Not helped by a missing screw from the inner lower fixation point.
Is there a fool proof method or do I just have to keep fiddling with the different screw tensions ?

    Hi Alastair,

There *should* be no problem at all aligning the headlight with an part of the car. I found that there could be a slight gap at the wing end depending which of the two lower screws you do up first.

However, if you are missing one of the lower screws as you say this WILL cause you problems. Get a new screw and as long as there is no damage to the mounting point for your headlight, all should be well again..

    Cheers,

    Steve.

I suspect the problem is with the missing screw meaning more weight for the upper plastic moulded brackets to support which is causing the light to 'sag'

Martyn has a new screw on its way however would you believe you can only get the spring clip if you buy the whole headlight unit !!! No separate listing
Needless to say we have found a way round that........good olde vagparts
