    Removing Avant Boot Handle

Anybody got any tips or BTDT on removing and replacing the Avant black boot handle for a RS2 red one?

    Thanks

      From experience......

Remove rear hatch lining, just pops off in about 10 places. This should give you access to the handle, rear reflector, etc. You should be able to remove the handle and mechanism completely. The handle is held on by 2 alan bolts, but mine were rusted on and were never coming off anyway, so I found it easier to remove the whole lot and attack it that way.

wtf? he asked only to remove the black trim on the handle, so he will put the red/transparent trim on. lift the rear door up, you have an imbus bolt that holds the black plastic on, but you have to hold the nut on the other side with an equal imbus key. unscrew, replace, screw back in. less than 1 minute "work".

Thanks Tim, Skull23 S2avant95m was point out if the two screws were rusted i'd have to replace the whole mechanism, i've got the complete mechanism but i'll try your method first if too rusted i'll replace the complete unit.
