avant rear aero wiper

has anyone had the problem where the rear wiper no longer stays pushed on the glass when wiping and if so how did you cure the problem- all advice welcome.

i know it is only a small problem but it just does my head in. when i look at the wiper starionery it is in contact with the window but when you use it it does not touch much of the glass area at all

Hi there my avant had this problem when i picked it up, but the wipers were well worn i swopped them with aero wipers from vag parts and i've had no problems since and from memory they're only £10-15 including the arm and the blade + they look loads better then the stock wipers.
Hope that helps, sorry i don't know what causes the original wipers to miss the screen.

The hinged area gets a lot of crap sucked up onto it and dry's out. Try some oil on it, should free it up. Spring should then do it's job again.

I got the rear aero wiper from VAG Parts 2 years ago or so. This was the rear wiper from a Polo GTI, this was a big improvement on the standard, although about an inch shorter which was a bit of a niggle.
The blade has now become a bit worn so I replaced the rear aero wiper blade with one from a Touran. This still fits on the same Polo GTI wiper arm, but is the same length as the original avant wiper blade.

So to recap the parts you need are:

Polo/Mk V Rear Wiper Arm - 6Q6 955 707 = £12.18 +VAT

Polo/Mk V Rear Wiper Cap - 7M3 955 435 01 C = £0.97 +VAT

Touran Rear Aero Wiper Blade - 7E0 955 425 = £4.08 +VAT
