Difficulty opening the bonnet

The passenger's side catch is stuck, so the lever in the grill doesn't really pop out, though I can grab it using a key or whatever. Any ideas to help me get this open?

Thanks for that, couldn't really see the catches, but after a few attempts the bonnet eventually opened normally.

Sorry about the dodgy focus on this pic, but I thought I'd stick it up to see if it looks the same as anyone elses. The passenger's side one doesn't seem to be attached to anything, other than a hook coming from the direction of the engine....
