not sure if this will apply to the S2 dudes here but maybe of interest to the S4/S6 brigade. missing undertray means not so efficient air flow to the inter cooler as it doesn't get chanelled/forced. For the sake of £4.99 and a couple of self self tappers i bought from a local garden centre a big square abs plastic tray, cut off the sides made myself a template of the area in question and job done all nicely boxed in thank you.
In front of the left hand side front wheel, it is in an area of negative pressure as the flow through the intercooler is blocked on it's exit, it is possible to adapt a wheel arch liner from a 2.7ttS4 and have a vent behind the intercooler so you have better airflow through it.
The Yanks call it a Frankenliner Mod, I think I've put it here somewhere already.
I purchased a vent for my own use about 3 years ago and todate I still have it in it's box.
It hasn't been fitted due to my never fitting my undertray
Plus (when I complete all my other projects) I want to fit a decent FMIC to my S6 and start to get some more bhp from her now she is just run in (230k) but customer cars always come first
This is a good tweak I reckon - it is no secret that the RS2 has a bloody big hole in the undertray right behind the intercooler so as to improve air flow in comparision with the S2 undertray which is much more restrictive.
Judicious drilling of the S2 undertray would effect a similar mod - and much cheaper than sourcing an RS2 undertray.
