Removing side Audi badge from Avant wing

Has anyone ever removed the side Audi badge from the Avant wing and got any hints?

Is it simply stuck on or is it screwed?

The Coupe ones are glued on with double sided 3M type foam tape. I managed to remove mine and refit by using a small jewellers screw driver very very very carefully and lifted one edge before inserting some thin wire behind it to prise it off. You may very well destroy the badge getting them off, so new ones are recommended. I am guessing this is the reason anyway...?

    Cheers,

    Steve.

I just had a look at photo's of the avant on here and it seems to be a little easier as they are purely stuck to the wing and not resessed into the rubbing strip a la coupe.

I would try heating it with a hairdryer (forgot that bit in my first post!) and using some thin wire to get behind the leading edge...

P.S. Post up some pics of the 18" Avus on your Avant when you do it, I reckon they will look lovely!

        Cheers,

If its just stuck on i used to use a one of those stanley knifes that you can extend, you know the ones that snap off to get a fresh point. Anyway i just got a new one, extended it fully and used it like a saw behind the badge. then all you need do is get rid of the sticky left.

No really its fine as long as you use a new blade, the thin one is nice and flexable. Keep it flat against the panel and it will not dig into the paint.

I wanted to bebadge the coupe but the trims look a swod to fill and paint so gonna leave it till i need to do lots of paint at once!

The indicator goes in the hole, GSF sell oval indicators that perfectly fit where the audi badge would be.

Anyhow so you reckon the Avant badge is just stuck on. Cool

No, it is not stuck on. It has clips. Unscrew the plastic mudflap behind the wheel, take a look inside, you will see the pins of the badge comintru`. Press the 2 pins of the badge and it is out. If you will pull from outside you will brake the pins 100%.

Really? in that case there must be a hole in the wing. Bah they stay on
