Cant remove the door handle

Guys,
I'm trying to remove the drivers side door handle.
I've looked at threads and know you have to rotate the metal clip thing anti-clockwise but what ever I try I cant get the clip to move.

Am I missing something obvious?

yes. The clip opens...You need ring pliers to open the clip then everything else is easy peasy

Though you just have to rotate and not remove the clip?

I don't recall ever having to undo the circlip, I rotated the bit with arm on, removed it, and it all comes apart easily enough, well I say that I remember havening to find something to put over of the arm to provide a bit more leverage in order to get it move.

I can barely move the arm on mine. it moves in and out but no rotation if that makes sense...
Will try and find something to add some leverage and see if that helps.
