    An original S2 Coupe windscreen

My original front windscreen was made for Audi by Pilkington its a green top shade with a green tint. I was advised there is factory in Finland who can make a replacement but cannot do a green tint but are able to do the top green shade.

So now I am looking for an original windscreen or a company that could assist in making me one to the original specification. Green on Green.

Does anybody have an idea who I could contact to get one or have one made.

The OEM screens are made by Saint Gobain, maybe try contacting them?

Pilkington still make windscreens and have a thriving business making windscreens for classic cars, mostly to order, I believe.

        See here https://www.pilkington.com/en-gb/uk/...dels?make=audi

So now I am looking for an original windscreen or a company that could assist in making me one to the original specification. While researching UTV windshield options I noticed some specialty glass manufacturers who work with custom tints and shades which could be worth exploring. Green on Green.

Contact Pilkington directly since they made the original and should have the exact specification on file. They may be able to reproduce it or point you to a distributor who still holds old stock. Also try AGC Automotive and Saint Gobain Sekurit, both major OEM glass manufacturers who supply Audi and may be able to custom produce it to your green on green specification. Check with your nearest Audi dealership parts department as rare spec windscreens sometimes exist in old stock within their network. Audi specific forums like AudiWorld are also worth posting on as another owner may have a spare original screen sitting in storage.

pilkington WILL make you a screen for a not horrifically unreasonable price. i asked them a few months back. it was a 16 week lead time. the killer is shipping. it was something on the order of 4x the cost of the screen to get it from the uk to canada. you won't have that problem?

              Hi All

Pilkington cannot supply a green on green. They can only do the top section colours.

I purchased a plain glass with the top having a green shade band from Pilkington. They could not supply a green on green.

Pilkington did a great job getting me a screen. It was expensive.

I'm waiting for my screen from Pilkington at the moment. In the order process I was offered two colours for the main part of the screen. one was described as clear and the other described as green. However, on enquiring further, the 'green' refers to slightly higher iron content that gives the glass a slight green tint, apparently only really visible at an acute angle or with a white sheet of paper underneath it. Living in a sunny climate, this is the one I was recommended and went for. It will be interesting to see just how 'green' it is when it finally turns up - 15 weeks and counting... Like others above, the cost of the screen itself wasn't too bad at about 450 GBP but shipping to Australia a whopping 2000 GBP . Thankfully insurance is picking some if not all of the the cost.

My original Audi screen was a green on green.

What I have now is a green on clear.

Pilkington advised that the glass supplier in Finland who has the tooling to make a screen can only offers the green on clear. Other top shading colours are apparently available.

I would have preferred a green on green.

I hope you get the shading you would like.

Solfella can you please update me what you end up getting.

Good luck with getting the top and bottom trims if they have been damaged during the removal of the old windscreen.

Dont forget to fit the sponge type seals in the sides of the windscreen.

Fit new clips for the side trims if any are missing.

Get the very best knowledgeable company available to you to replace the windscreen.

Ever since my windscreen was replaced, I have had wind noise at over 100km/hr.

Thank you and all good advice. I managed to get new top and bottom trims from Tradition and sourced the side trims, spacers, wedges and even NOS pop rivets from somewhere else in Europe. Just need the screen now. Indeed, I read as much as I could about fitting the screen on the forum, and from that have put together a document with the best advice for the fitter. He's not done a coupe (there's only a handful in the country, let alone Cairns) but he is a local who does custom as well as mainstream work, and even has an old Jaguar he's replaced the screen in - according one post I read, they're even harder than our cars. And yes, I'll update you, and the forum, on how things end up. Due to an administration error (I deleted it), I lost the email string where all this was discussed with Pilkington. I've asked them to send me a copy.

Sounds like exactly like what I have done. Picture are showing the green on green and what I ended up with.

I must add I am happy with the clear with a shade, but I would have preferred green on green. I live in a hot sunny country and the one I have is ok.

That's quite a noticeable difference. I'd be happy with either but the green seemed the go to given the climate.
