Volcano and Brilliant Black Differences.

Can anyone tell me how brilliant black compares with volcano black? Is one darker than other? What other differences are there?

My own car is brilliant black which is a wet looking black with a clear coat lacquer. Does Volcano have a pearlescent finish to it.

Which black(s) a metallic finish?

Any close up close up pics of a volcano black finish would be good .

Volcano black = metallic base, clear coat top.
Brilliant black = non metallic base, clear coat top.

I haven't seen any brilliant black cars up close but my car's volcano black and it's got a bit of a graphite tint to it.
Jas' definition's a little more technical though

Thanks guys, is it fair to say that Volcano black is essentially Brilliant Black with metallic fleck/flakes added. The term graphite leads me to believe it might look a shade of grey under certain lighting conditions.

My Avant is Volcano and it looks almost Brunswick Green in certain lights. And yes, it is a bitch to keep it looking clean.

I would agree with Jase and others:

Brilliant Black would be a solid colour with no metallic flake or pearl effect, Volcano Black, would have the metallic flake added.

Can anyone with a Brilliant black car confirm it is indeed a solid colour with nothing else added?
