How Much Should I Expect to Pay for Auto Glass Replacement?

    Hi everyone,

I’m looking to replace my car’s windshield and possibly a side window and want to get an idea of typical costs. I’ve heard prices can vary a lot depending on car make, model, and whether it’s OEM or aftermarket glass.

Does anyone have recent experience with auto glass replacement? What factors should I consider that might affect the price? Also, are there ways to get a more affordable replacement without compromising quality or safety?

Any tips on reputable shops or insurance coverage for this would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Also which car? If it's a Coupe be very careful who you let loose on the windscreen!

They're not at all easy to fit correctly and I'm yet to see an Autoglass installation done that doesn't cause water ingress. It's the best part of a days work and should be done exactly as described in the factory manual.

I'd only consider getting a new screen fitted to a Coupe if the old one is cracked or the car having a glass out respray, I'd rather live with the odd stone chip than leaks.
