Nice one Jas Glad it all worked out.

I made my local Autoglass branch take the screen out 3 times and they still failled to get the trims flush, although they got rid of most of the wind noise in the end.

So the question for us in the south east is.....do we drive to your neck of the woods, or wait for Steve to find a good fitter down here

        Cheers n

Had I paid full whack for the screen out of my pocket, it would have cost £590 all told. So thats roughly the same as what I paid cash 6/7 years ago.
£50 excess paid through my insurance this time (phew)

Oh, as said above, they sourced everything apart from the screen at local dealers Teeside Audi.
They had invoiced Autoglass for the rivets used, 16 x £570 each That would have made the bill to my insurance company over £9000
          Erm, try 57p maybe?
£590 is that OEM screen price Jas?

That would have been all in including fitting James.
Guessing Ben would be able to give you a price on the screen alone

I also now have a decent sized crack in my screen. Currently from the top right corner to about the midlle of the screen.

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to take it in the Wirral/Cheshire/Merseyside area? I've been fortunate enough to date to have no experience of having a screen fitted.

Checked the excess, £70, so not too bad. Can I insist with the insurance company as to where I take it?

              Cheers

first thing to insist on is a genuine audi screen, as for where to go in your area hopefully someone has some experience. I'd suggest being prepared to travel to get a decent job done

Cheers. Just be having more of a read and it sounds like the Avants are easier than the Coupes. Mine's an avant so I'm hoping it won't cause as many problems.

Any tips on what I should be looking for after the job is done?

How do you tell the difference between an Audi and a copy screen? Is it the part marking? If so, where is it and can you see it once the screen is fitted?

                      Lots of questions,
