Yes, those are the ballasts for the fogs.
Ballasts for the main headlights are as follows, pics are of Marks (Rotoryboy) install last year, as I didn't take any of mine way back over two years ago - (eek, 3/12/2005, they've been on that long? )

Drivers side, sits under the headlight itself, there's a recess where it sits sits nicely.

Passenger side, sits behind headlight, retainer attached to the plastic trim panel that sits vertically in front of the PAS bottle,

Yeah, great pics Jas, nice to have them as reference for my work....
I don't have the oil cooler duct in place any more, as my cold air intake cmes down in that area, I also have a slightly different interior to my bumper, which I think *might* make it a bit easier to fit....
I went for 6000K fogs, the same as my headlights.... I hope I have done the right thing....!
cheap as chips though, but ot sure of quality, or how long they will last....
Now, got to search for the link to the bestest side lights too, sure Jas posted that somewhere too....
@Acidburn thanks for searching the link... my itchy keyboard fingers couldn't stop from clicking "buy it now....."

The balasts will die or the bulbs itself. Dont even think about it. And somebody can go blind vhen you will use them.

To be honest, its quite hard to do both, the indicators and the fogs.... it all depends how lucky you are as to how easy the lenses are to remove...
The indicators are much easier than the fogs though....
you need to very very carefully, try and slide a thin bladed knife between the lens and light body, and I mean carefully... you don't want to crack the lens...
Then, once apart, clean the back of the lens, so there is no residue from the previous adhesive.
Very carefully, with card, (not masking tape, as this will remove the silver coating) mask up the silver reflective area you wish to remain, I did up to the inside straight edge - remember, don't paint the edge where the glue will be going,. I used satin black paint.
Leave to dry thoroughly and stick back together with black flexible adhesive, something like Sikaflex, or Wurth do an excellent one (also use this for the fogs if you do them)
You must put on enough glue to cover and not leave gaps, as this will show through the lens, but not too much so that it squirts out inside the edge of the light, as this will also show, its a bit hit and miss.... I was lucky.....:mischeif:
leave to dry, and trim off the excess glue which squeezed out..... then you are done....
I take no responsibility for anyone ruining their lights....
                          Hope this helps.....

Oh, and I use the fogs so rarely that I think the ballasts will last for the 2 or 3 times a year they are used, so HID it will be , and LEDS are on order...... Cheers fellas....

                              Hi Jas,
So what happened to the Coupe with the megasquirt? Remember seeing it at the QRS open day. It had some running problems. Was that car ever sorted properly?

It was sorted Chris yes mate. By all account a bit of an animal too. But FWD.
Paul got fed up with the torque steer and had taken the engine as far as he wanted. It was never going to sell with all that done to it, so lump ripped out along with the TB's and sold onto a golf owner IIRC. Car then broken for spares.
