Avant tailgate lights!!

Trying to find what tailgate lights fit the avant.
Saw recently someone had put tailgate lights off a 90Q ( i think ) on their's.
Can anyone confirm what light's will fit tailgate on an avant.
Have searched through numerous threads but can't seem to find what i'm looking for.

Well the 80 Avant has unique rear lights according to the parts system - inner & outer lamps are different from the 80 Sedan. The AVant parts start 8A9 whilst the Sedan items start 8A0... The older cars such as 90Q start with 893... However they may all be interchangeable in terms of fit to the body and it *MIGHT* only be the wiring plugs that are different. Dunno...

The B3 90 saloon with red refelctor will fit, you just need to modify it a little to accomodate the boot release handle. This is a single part.

only difference i could find is the the boot left and right lamps have white plastic glass for the reverse lights,while the avant has greyish.other than that the B3 will fit the avant without problems.Also you have to accomodate the rear fog light on the driver side,as the avant uses both,left and right for fogs,and the B3 80 uses only the passenger side light.at least mine has cables and lights for 2 rear fog lights

b3 has slighty smaller lights, but they fit with no mods, you just have to center the meddle edge/line

AFAIK - all B3 and B4 cars will have fog light wiring to both sides AFAIK... Slightly different rules across European countries applied in the past. In UK it used to be that you legally only need the drivers side (right) foglight - actually that might still be true. In some EU countries you need just the drivers side (left) and some others you need both. Maybe all the rules are same across EU - dunno.

Thanks for the info all, the panel is direct replacement for the kak black on stock avant then.
Just been reading through dest's thread & it seem's Acidburn (Peter) sold his rear panel to dest.
Anyone else got one they wan't rid of.

i got Audi 90 rear bootlid light housing on my Audi 80 ,1.9 TDI

little mod of tailgate handle is all that is needed

Pmsl yeah i've already pm'd s20ale that link.

That was the second panel that I had, I took both up to dest and gave him the choice this guy had the other one. That panel is in good condition and i've got some decent pictures of it if people need them from what I can remember.
