    Coupe Aero Wiper Update

There has been a part number change since I posted the Aero Wiper info at S2central.net which has caught me out so I wanted to capture it here first and ask for help in solving the rest of the puzzle.

The part number I previously used for the front aero wiper (arm and blade) was 6X2-998-405. In a rush I used that to order new blades for my front aeros but then realised I had ordered arms as well - D'oh but anyway. That part number has been discontinued and the parts system now calls up the following -

6X2-955-409C - the arm which is correct and I've cross-checked with old ones - OK
1J2-955-425A - for the blade but no dimension is given

What I actually received from VAGparts was the correct arm and an aero blade carrying the number 1J2-955-426B

I figured other numbers must have changed but found it all wrong when trying to fit that new 426B blade onto my front arms - the blades are much too long.

VAGparts are cool about it and will correct any gaff they may have made - I'm not worried about that, but can someone else confirm that 1J2-955-425A is the correct number for a 470mm aero blade that fits the Coupe (RHD) ?

One good thing that came out of this was that I discovered this bigger blade works fantastically on the rear - giving larger sweep than the previous 470mm blade. For the rear I am running the 6X2-955-410 arm - which I previously ordered up as part of a different code that also called up the unlabelled 470mm blade.

Just to be clear - there is no numbers on the 470mm blades that I got in the past.
I'll have a dig thru the VW family album on these, but if anyone can sanity check the front blades with parts they received recently that will be great...

Then I'll update s2central.net with the info and make sure VAGparts lines up.

Lets treat Avants in a different thread please BTW - this one is already confusing enough.

Let us know how you get on with those - I bought a set for the allroad - which I met set on fire at the weekend so as to cut my losses I'm kidding... see recent thread.

as afr as i know you trim 1 inch off the passenger flatblade, pop the plastic end bit back on and bobs your uncle. I will knick them back off the A6 shortly and put them on the coupe

You have to buy I think 2001-2003 variant arms as they have a common mounting post with the S2 then, others later than that use a larger post, a la the A4 (made that mistake a couple of years back
