As if there wern't enough un-solved mysteries on the car, the bonnet wanted to be part of the 'fun'. When i pull the latch there was a springy feel, but the bonnet itself did not pop. I then pushed the bonnet a tad and realised it wasnt completely sitting before. I try the latch now and there is no springy feel, and the bonnet still doesnt pop up

ive had this on 2 s2's before, either get a long screw driver and poke thrugh grill and push the springs back until it pops open or grab the cable near the drivers side windscreen and pull it until it pops open.
be careful with option 2 as i did it and popped my arm out of the socket.
^Proof the S2's are beasts lol Thanks for the quick reply, i'll defo try that, i just cant feel any resistance when pulling the lever, might have a snapped wire.

Well known issue with cable snapping. A long screwdriver is your friend when combined with another to apply firm pressure to bonnet.
See this post for more thoughts and cussing http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ghlight=bonnet
Thanks chaps! The release handle inside the car gave up, the whole wire came out! All good though, finally managed to get it open, dare i say it wasn't too hard. I think we have a problem on our hands!:mischeif:
