  • Ripped the undertray off....

Someone left a log in the road for me.... - great.. It's torn the tray pretty badly and completely off the mounts...... Grrrr only just got the car back with it's fancy brakes as well.

    So, onto my questions:
    1. Any issues driving with the undertray missing?
    2. Where can I get a replacement from (I see VAG do fixings - but not the tray as far as I can tell) ?
    3. Is this a fairly simple job? - will I need to get the car off the ground to refit?

    Still really annoyed...

    Cheers

    Dan

        Some answers:

        1. Better to have the tray on (better aerodynamics, cleaner engine bay, better intercooler efficiency) but its not the end of the world to have it off for a bit.

        2. You have been given a couple of leads for a used one. If not new part = 893 863 823 F (AFAIK - check with a dealer, etc. to confirm).

        3. No biggy. Better if your car is at least up on ramps to get the clearance. It isn't a piece of cake (can be frustrating the first few times) but persevere and it will be on in 10 to 15 minutes.

            3B sound deadening pan = 893 863 823 B

            ABY sound deadening pan = 8G0 863 821 B

            Similar but different?

one problem i have without it is,if i go through a puddle at the side of the road the alternator gets splashed and can take ages to come back to fully charging.
