when you guys get your CF hoods you are more than welcome to paint them. im leaving mine unpainted. no sense in letting some riceboys influence a look that you actually like.

plus, i dont have money to paint it even if i wanted to.

oh.....and if a bunch of you guys seriously want the hoods....send me a pm and ill try to get in touch with fiber images about shipping them over there.

And I'm probably not the only one!

There are a couple of moulds for bonnets already in use in the UK.
Dunno how they compare in quality to the one in your pics? It looks very neat indeed

Fibre-Lyte have one, I'll see if I can get a price from them for a GB.

The problem with the one I've seen is that it requires latches on the hood because they didn't add the section for the catch mount. Maybe they could modify for a GB?

Can only ask and see what they come back with....

ill see if i can get hold of fiber images in the next week, and see what they say. due to the cost of shipping overseas, in order for it to be worth it for you guys, i would estimate you would need probably at least 10 people, and they could all be shipped to one location over there, then distributed or picked up. from what i can tell so far, the quality is very high, and from others that have fitted theirs already, the fitment is OE quality. i will probably be putting mine on tomorrow given that i finish the grille today.

Just got some info back from Fibre-Lyte on their Audi 80 bonnet.
Your looking at £450 each for individual orders. A group buy price would be lower, but it all depends on how many they would be manufacturing in the order. We'd need a show of hands to go back to them with numbers for a GB on these, if there are peeps interested.
The problem with the mould they have is that it's been made for competition use and as a result it uses bonnet pins, rather than the OE latch. I'd personally like to get them to modify it for the latch components.

Best fit to black or dark blue car unpainted

Too bad I have red one

"these were a custom run of about 15 hoods they made for us. we sent them a brand new hood to make a mould. i think mine was the 4th or 5th they made. ours cost $550, since it was part of the group buy. not sure what they will sell it for outside of the group purchase. shipping overseas might be quite a pain, unless a bunch of you got a group buy and had them all crated over at once."

                  Quattro site tells 645$ + freight :/

Ben wanted $550...Fibre Images wants more now.Unless you can show me that Fibre Images can get me one for $500US since the mold is made then ill join your camp.

Just go ahead an ask BillzCat1 and Alex van Gerbig of Europrice, if you don't belive me.
Just because your a moderator on Audiworld does not make you a moderator here yumy to cast judgement.I heard about what Ben did to Richard and was upset.Alex is a good friend of mine as well so i can understand what is going on.I have never met Ben but he seems straight up.I will say this.......Ben was the guy that went to Fibre Images for the CF hoods.(something i have been longing to do since my FG hood was crap),not you and not Quattro4Life,for that we must give him credit.I dont know the whole story, only what i have read but if you can prove that Ben did indeed make money on the Fibre Images deal then ill happily join your camp.

p.s. No Harm no foul if you contacted Fibre Images and ordered the hoods yourself since they have the molds.
