Repainting Sideskirts + Products ?

Hi.

My paint have started to chip of.
I need some help, what products should i use to repaint my sideskirts.
I whant a stone chip paint "rubber like"

POR15 seems to be the way to go.
But i have no idea what products to order.
POR 15 Rust Prevention Paint??
Metal Ready ???

I need some advice, and where to order.
And what steps need to be done.

When you say 'side skirts' do you mean an after market add-on... I can't tell from your sig...

Can you post some photo's to show me the damage, before I can say what would be the best way to go...

its the original sideskirts.

i have repainted them once, but then i removed all stock protection.
Just leaving bare metal.

and i used wrong or to little Body paint, so stones has chipped the paint away and made surface rust visible.

i dont whant to do this again so i whant to use the right stuff.

Hi Pelle, we call the part you are refering to the sill. The paint should be stripped off and then treated with a rust remover or phosphoric acid. I use a paint by Akzo Nobel on my old cars. It is called PA10, I would then paint with a softer plasticised paint suitable for plastic bumpers as this will resist chipping. Then the colour coat with plasticiser as well. If you get plastic bumper primer you can paint the black bits as well.

And paint POR 15 Rust Prevention Paint, can i cover it with the cars Colour ?

Yes, metal ready, then por15, then 3m sealer, then primer, then body colour required.

Cam i order the 3m Sealer from somewhere ?

Neutralize Rust and Etch Metal with metal ready

Apply Rust Preventive Coating on Surface por15

Top Coat the Surface Frost has a product thats called Stirling Silver.

what is Then Dinitrol 3125 followed by Dinitrol 4941

what is Then Dinitrol 3125 followed by Dinitrol 4941

The 3m sealer gives the factory finish to the sills. this is grey in colour. you then need to paint it the colour you want, black ,silver.
The Dinitrol is a wax/oily product, used for under side, put where you won't be washing with a sponge everytime you wash your car, under sills/wheel arches etc.

I have no clue how to spray them with the 3m sealer.
isnt there any sealer that dont requires to be sprayed on, instead brushed on.

Or is the only tools i need the "gun" for the 3m sealer ?

Brushing any thing on will look a ******.
If you buy the 3M gun, all you need is some compressed air, any small compressor will do!

Called my local "colorama" store, they had 3m sealer in stock.
Maybe he has a gun that does the job.

How mutch is requierd for both sides ?

GT500 Can you please confirme what Part NRs i should order ?.

You need two 8800 (sealer) and one 8801 (gun)
give it two light coats, one bag per coat. you will be able to recreate the factory finish with i little practise.
Needs 24 hours between coats.
