Avant windscreen - advice needes asap..

I have done a search on here, and have found lots of horror storys about having screens fitted to coupe's with the side trims/rivits screen sitting to high/low, is this the same case with the avant?

Ive got the car booked in at autoglass at 5pm today, just wondering are they going to be able to do it in 1 hour? as they close at 6pm (i know i have to leave it an hour or so before driving it afterwards)

also what should i be looking out for when the fit it?

IMO, the biggest concern is, they will ruin painjob and harm the metal under the seals when removing the glass, and they will not do anything about it. You cant see rust growing op under there, so...

Pros can do it in 20minutes, use duct tape to hold the glass in place...

does the avant not have the plastic covers and rivits like the coupe then?

No. Just one thin rubber seal. Change that too. And there are two types of shading on top, blue and green.

Had the windscreen for the A4 done this morning.
The guy was here and gone within an hour.
But they tell you not to drive it for about 3-4 hours (until it sets properly)

The seal arouns my coupe has streched and i think water is getting from the gap that is left.

The actual windscreen is fine, but was wondering is anyone knows if just the seal can be replaced, if so roughly how much?

              cheers

Having mine done on Friday hopefully by RAC Autowindscreens. Worried now they will damage the paintwork underneath especially as i wont be here when they do it so i cant watch them!

My avant has a new windscreen and what really bugs me is along the right hand edge there is a change in magnification. Its almost like the window is being stressed out of shape so it distorts your vision when you look through it. Its really annoying as every time you look to your right at t-junctions you notice it. I could do with a new one on my coupe but thats put me off the idea.
