  • 80 Super Touring front spoiler

Saw this pic when searching for the Super Touring Audi 80 and noticed the really subtle little front splitter. Any ideas if such a thing exists to buy? If not then anyone fancy making one out of Carbon Fibre :mischeif:

Be a much cheaper in GRP, particularly when you loose it on the first kerb or speed bump.

That's the on Skull, ta 100 euros is fairly pricey, can't see from the pics what you get, the website has some broken links. Is Aelred the UK man for this stuff?

Loads of camber and some coilovers would be a good start

They moved the top mount on the strut bar bracket, that is how they lowered it so much.

Right. Are there any articles on it?

I've PM'd Aelred about the spoiler to see if he can get them.

The front splitter is subtle because the bumper is a nice square bluff shape ...no need for a small table top to be bolted on the front - and I think the splitter had to shadow the car perimeter shape anyway so it would have to be fairly small.

It's a far cry from the awful front bumper we had on the Toyota Carina ...we had to run a very wide oil cooler to overcome that problem before the rules for super touring allowed serious splitters and a rear wing of sorts) ...we had the worst aero characteristics after the Mazda Xedos that was running in the same era - which left the championship halfway through the season IIRC.

...as for getting the car that low, the suspension points were allowed to move 25mm in any direction in supertouring rules, but fenders could be massaged and the rear tubs opened up a bit (um, a lot) ...tyres still tended to rub a little (aka engineer's clearance!)

It's not better than sex, but it runs it a close second.
