Knocking noise from rear pillar

I have this very annoying, fairly loud knocking coming from what seems to be inside the rear pillar by the boot lid. (sorry, my knowledge on correct names is limited)

I have had all the trim off, parcel shelf etc. I have adjusted the two studs that the boot rest on but all to no avail.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any answers?

Which side of the boot, drivers or passengers?

check your struts are done up properly, worn top mounts can give a knocking sort of noise on certain surfaces.

Can you describe the noise, i.e. is it a small knock or loud or more of a thud and what sort of conditions you hear it i.e. going round certain bends or over certain roads.

Passenger side.

Checked my struts, seem ok, went to the extent of wrapping the passenger side one up in bubble-rap to make sure it wasn't knocking.

It's a loud tap, short and sharp, high pitch, almost like metal on glass..tink tink lol

happens on small pumps and general uneven roads, not over big bumps.

Very very annoying
