I was changing my wheels and found a small rubber pipe protruding from underside of my car on the drivers side. It is blocked with cr*p...would this be the reason why I get a damp drivers and rear passangers foot well?
If it's under the rear seats then on your ABY it wil be your vent pipe from your battery. If it's nearer the front then I'm sure there is some drainage pipes there but if you don't have a sun roof then I'm not 100% certain.
I don't see why not. I'm not sure where it is exactly at the top of the water box. Maybe insert a length a wire at the bottom and look for it at the top? Then just reverse the process to clear the obstruction.
Cheers Rob, You know if I can get to it from the inside in order to push the dirt outwards?
Rather than wire, people have been using the stiff plastic "String" from electric weedwackers. I would sand the end smooth before pushing it in the hose (from either end, i.e. the drain hose you found and under the cowl (No, not Simon Cowel) tray).

never seen that, might be unique to the ABY but having spent literally days under the car in the last 8 years i dont ever remember seeing that on my 3b
Ok, I took a bit of strimming cable and stuck it up formentioned pipe. It went smoothly up the first foot and half ish then stopped. I think it went horzontal and stopped around the bottom of the wheel arch, but thats a guess.
However, I had a look by the fusebox and saw that there was foam 'plug' that was removed. It is now back but could this of been resposible for wet foot wells?
