    RS2 headlight washers

I have RS2 headlight washers/squirters/jets to install in my OEM RS2 bumper, but I'm missing the gaskets and nuts. I saw on here someone added RS2 washers to an S2 bumper, simply by drilling the hole undersize and pressing them in with force. I don't know if I want to do mine that way, but on the other hand I have found that the gaskets are quite expensive. Another alternative is to have the holes shaved, but since I'm part way there with the squirters I'd rather try to use them.

In the pic, I have #9, but not #10 or #11. For some reason #10 is called "packing."

Does anyone have a pair of new or used gaskets I could purchase, or even a close up picture of what they look like and what they are made of? If they are something I can fabricate then I can save a bit of coin. The retaining nuts are really cheap so I'll just get those.

    Thanks for any help.

I have fitted them without that bit, and it worked allright. Of course i have mounted the nut under it, as there must be something holding it in.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm looking forward to those pics Tom.

I forgot to write that drilling undersize and press-fitting isn't an option since the OEM bumper already has the holes in it.

I have them on my Coupe...

and they are inexpensive and easy to install. Of course I got them from VAG,(another reason we are gonna miss those fellas) and it took about 45 minutes to do the job.

If they were inexpensive from Vagparts when you bought them, then that is irrelevant today since they are not here to sell them to me anymore. I'm asking for information now because the current price is $47 for the pair of gaskets only, unless you think that is cheap?

Use your browser. Look for suppliers in Germany.

And yes $47 is pretty cheap for what is considered rare parts.
You made the decision to install these items. Now you have to deal with their obscurity.

Well the nuts, which are arguably more complex than the simpler gaskets since they are threaded, are only $4 a pair from the same source. I think that is pretty cheap for parts that ought to be just as rare.

While we're not talking about huge sums it all adds up and one part being 10x as much as a similar part would be like a fog light lens being $150 and a headlight lens being $1500. I value value more than I do exclusivity, and I'm not impressed by wasteful overspending, but everybody's different.

When there is no substitute and you get something for the premium, I don't have a problem opening the wallet, but I will ask the question first. It's more of a hobby to me than a credit card competition or race to bankruptcy.

Also if you read my post I haven't already made the decision to install the items, but thanks for joining my thread to say how wrong I am. I'm really thankful and had no idea RS2 parts were obscure.

                            As promised....

I eventually located my box labeled "RS2 bumper hardware" and dug out the jets and the rubber washers.

The rubber washers are nothing special except for the notches at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock on the ID. I didn't see anything on the jets or the bumper which would indicate that you couldn't just use a regular old rubber washer in its place. Just make the little notches to fit the raised areas on the jets.

The jets with the white nuts that secure them inside of the bumper.

A couple of closeups of the washer showing the dimensions.
