My RS2 is going in for a full re-paint, windows out, sunroof out, arches off, new arches up front, new nuts, clips, bolts, side mouldings etc etc, but Ive decided I might aswell leave the roof bars off as im never going to use them, and if I really really wanted them back, I could always just drill back in and pull the filler out........
What are all your opinions?
Personally - I'd keep em... look right on an Avant somehow - looks naked otherwise and if they were factory fitted then its another reason to keep them on as nature intended.
The roof bars mount onto lugs that are welded into the frame under the roof skin. You can cut them off and plate over the top but in reality it would be a one way operation.
When I had a quote last summer a glass out resprays for the Avany was 2.5K. I know everyone always knows someone that can do the job cheaper but some of the work I saw at these places was comical.
