Whats best for restoring a highly oxodized red Golf....
The paintwork on my red s2 was in similar condition to your golf. I used Farecla G3 followed by the autoglym super resin polish and plenty of elbow grease!!

Cars come up well smart...
Is that a private plate or is it an L reg?? Mine is!!
I would echo the above comments regarding cutting compounds. Menzerna 3.02rd would be my choice. (not that cheap). Or good old T-Cut, just be aware that you can cut throught the paint with it as it has no dimishing abrasives. i.e. It will cut the same at the begining as it does at the end. Then use AG SRP then a sealant like AG Extra Gloss Protection... I will take a long time and you may have to do it again every 6 months or so. That's what my MK2 Golf gti was like...
Cheers,
Steve.

Did yours come with the clear indicators?
Cheers!! Took a lot of work mind!
Yeah she's an L reg, 1st registered at the end of feb 1994. I bought her last year and so far as i know she came with clear indicators from new
She has orange side repeaters tho ....Must get round to changing them!
How long have you owned yours? yours is in good nick 2!
I polished her up at the end of july, and it's kept well so far, going to give it another go with the super resin polish soon!
Klass All in One is another good product that will remove the oxidised paint. Other than that swissvax cleaner fluid is another good one but is expensive
3'' Longlife Exhaust, Koni Adjustables, H&R Springs, Full RS2 Setup with Mr Nugents RS2 Chips (just need the RS2 Airbox)

It needs another couple of coats of AG SRP & AG HGF but what a differance...
A Big THANKS to all you guys who have given us advice on what to use!!
My Lad was over for the weekend and spent it all cleaning his new pride & joy....

I find autoglym bumper care is fantastic for black trim, esp if you have got white polish marks on them. I only stared using it a while back but wonder why I never used it years ago, I've tried the heat trick before but it didn't really work out for me.
