Petrol Cap Inner filler neck flap???

The best way to describe this problem, is I have somehow managed to break the plasitc INNER petrol filler neck.

Inside the neck of the petrol tank is a plastic "neck" insert with a sprung metal flap. the plastic part has somehow broken and now drops down a little further than it should making filling up difficult.

Has anyone else come across this and can you buy a replacment.

Help on KATE would be appreciated, is there a part number for it???

    TIA

    Cheers,

    Steve.

      Thanks,

I think it could be "29" but it is hard to tell from here!

press down CTRL and scroll (mozilla firefox), then you zoom the picture, 29 is the sealant on the fuel cap

To be honest, I can't see it being anything else though.

I will have to take a picture at some point.....

            Thanks

Careful, the diagram lind4hl posted is for an avant rather than a coupe. Just in case there are differences.

PS. The zoom features works on Opera too.

As you have a coupe you can get it separately.

Part number is 893 201 115 B. Retail is £3.92 + VAT but they are on back order so will be around 7-10 days.

They are used on all B3/B4 coupes and B3 80s so you should be able to pick one up from somewhere if you need one quicker.
