Audi Avant tailgate screen removal

Afternoon All


I was wondering ,if anyone here has removed a rear screen from the tailgate,from an Avant .
I have the std bubbling under the screen and i want to get it sorted/repaired.

I have tried to remove screen from a spare damaged tailgate and the screen shattered.....so i was wondering is it possible to remove and reuse the screen after the rust/bubbling sorted.


I thought rust couldve be caused from outside the car .but after looking at shattered screen surfaces ..... looks like it could be caused by the possible condesation from inside runnin down to the window surface ledge.and buildin up there

Hi John,
You need a cheese wire to cut through the bonding sealer. try the sides first!
Hardest is getting the wire through to start.
You will probobly need to repaint the whole tail gate as the wire can easy chew the paint..

get windscreen specialists to take it out and then refit it they have the right tools and experience.
