Can anyone tell me the best product/method to remove the black adhesive that is used to stick the slim moldings on the wing and doors. Have removed the moldings now just need to get the gunk of the bodywork.
Also when it comes to sticking them back on . What do i use?
They ain't stuck on... There are clips for those trim pieces.
Sorry should have mentioned I'm talking about on a RS2, the lower moldings have clips but the slim ones are stuck with some kind of black mastic. Can't see no holes or pins for clips underneath.
Take the slim mouldings off with care - you can't buy them new anymore.
Thnks , was really worried when I was going to remove the first one, but with a bit of heat they came of easily. Just have to remember to lie them down flat after you take them off so they retain their flat state.
Gentle use of a hair dryer and dental floss is a good way, then the product Sonic recommended...

go into halfords and get some autoglym adhesive and tar remover. Soak a rag in it and then hold the rag on the area for a few mins...should wipe off easy.
Also good for disolving chewing gum out of carpets too...dont ask fecking kids!
