    Need a new Sill.

During my clutch change one of the stands popped the passenger side sill on my Coupe.

Its had previous welding and repairs and was very rusted under the stone chip paint.
Its not going to pass an MOT like this so i need to have a section cut out and replaced.

Has any one done this before? Are Sills available for these cars?

This is what it looks like atm.

Bummer. Looks like a bad repair at somoe point in its life.
Everywhere i found rust on my underbody was in teh vacinity of previous repairs

I had a bit repaired on mine, and also did a bit myself on the other siude rear sill Bo - welded in a new section but its bugging me now as it doesn't look quite perfect and I'm OCD about these things.
I think the sills are still available from the dealer for not too bad money. Other option is cutting a section out of a good car or making a piece up.

Job isn't that bad on the face of it, basically need spot welds dilling out and then plug welding the new sill in.

I'm sure Rob GT500 will see you better than new

Also mate if I was you i'd strip all the underseal back until you find clean steel & primer as the rust spreads under the stone chip / underseal. Looks fine on the surface but rotting underneath Check out my project thread to see what happens

When you changing the sill, do NOT overlay the metal. put it edge to edge, otherwise it´ll rust again soon.

Bo, has that car been living in a pond?

              Good luck with the repair.
