    Squeaky Windows ?

My front window squeaks rather alarmingly now on the last inch or so of upward travel. It has done this for a while, but has gotten worse with the new door seal on drivers side. I recall someone posting about a special lubricant that should be used here, but I cannot find any reference to it. If anybody knows or can dig up the thread then it would be great.

    Cheers,

    Paul

Silicon spray on the rubbers can help. Otherwise get some white grease on the runners...

You would never describe this noise as 'cool' in anyway... I pulled into a carpark the other day and opened the window to grab a ticket. There was a gorgeous girl in a Q7 just leaving at the same time and she looked at me like I was scum of the earth with the shriek of that window. LOL

Silicone spray it is then. Thanks chaps...

Mine too squeeks in a loud quiet loud fashion on its way down. Put your finger on the button and its "squeek.....squeeeeek.......squeek etc etc" all the way down so annoying.

I had both regulators out last year and greased them all up so i dont think thats the issue. I think its the door seal!

Any help would be great. Thanks guys

Been out with a tin of silicone spray and the problem is MUCH reduced. Quickest fix ever there I think

The seal strip on the door itself is indeed quite dry and old as youd expect so it got a squirt. The worst area is the rear corner rubber on the door card. With the door open all is quiet, but with door shut this is the only area of a little squeak after the liberal application of some lube.

Just be careful not to overspray it onto paint by using some sort of cloth or rag in your other hand as a mask.

I must remember to raid the 1TWU relay from the sad, lifeless and broken B4 on the driveway.
