placement of axle stands

will be working on the underside of the RS2 over the winter months, i.e. removing subframe cleaning up and replacing bushes, springs and dampers. Also want to attend to the underbody coating cleaning up again and recoating using Bilt hamber dynax UB. May be an obvious question but
where is the best place to position the axle stands? The sill covers have been recently painted so not too keen on getting these marked.

under the diamond shapes on the sills ... There is a cut out for the standard jack there..

when I was doing mine I put a jack in the center of the front subframe then on the sump with a block of wood when subframe was removed for some extra support, just did not like the idea of all that weight forward of the front cill axle stands for a long time.
