Ellipsoid vs Reflector Glass

Hey guys, just found a lovely crack on my new ellipsoids i put in a couple months ago.

i was wondering were you guys got your glass from to replace the broken glass?

also, it seems as if the glass for the early s2 reflector headlights would fit an ellipsoid base.


why does that glass look so clear? Is there a kind with a lot of etching and another with little to none?
can anyone confirm this?

i notice the glass etching is different between the ellipsoid and non, but that doesn't matter so much seeing i want to clean that up like so.

yes the earlier style would physically fit but has a different pattern for the beam on the lens.Think they are about £50 new for the correct version

well most people over here in america like keeping a hold of the euro only parts, i've found. haha

is it driver side?

cuz thats what i got spare.... S2 LHD/USA driver side, i am pretty sure of it.

knowing my luck though, i would send it to you and break mine in a few weeks hahahaha

lol and i'm going to smooth out the ridges in it, so if you wanted it back it wouldn't look the same.

you need anything from europe? i have audibits sending over a rather large box of my stuff for a really really good price.

can someoone verify that this is the part number for the glass?

for us americans, it's my drivers side headlight... o/s for you guys?

would that be part a or b?

techinically the headlight is broken, they could replace the whole thing.

yeah, he's a good guy, i seem to keep on adding more and more stuff to the list of things he's shipping over

i get myself a wheel i haven't seen in a cq, front and rear bumper, door trim, red plasma guages, isv, nice shift knob, tail light center (for me to cut up), and some other random stuff.

I need to get ahold of some clear corners for the cabriolet bumper now though.

ok well apparently geico is trying to screw me over.

I got an email saying
"The full glass coverage allows for complete repair or replacement of
damaged safety glass without regard to the deductible you have chosen
for your comprehensive coverage.

This includes the glass used in the windshield, doors, windows, and
glass, plastic or other material used in the lights of the motor
vehicle. "

i called to report the claim and they said it was not covered, and "said" they "checked" with someone else and found it wasn't covered.

The guy who sent me that email is going to get a woopin by his superiors by the end of this.

so according to that chart up there, it looks like i need part # b 895 941 115 E (the one highlighter) correct?

normally you would call our drivers side the left side...

Probs not much help but i found my found my grill on german ebay but mine is just a coupe and ts pre-facelift. Still would be a good place to look.
