If it has factory immo then the factory ECU expects to talk to it as well - it will not start until keys are coded OR the ECU can be changed to non-immo type and you are no longer worrying about key codes etc.

In the short run, I had suggested to Don that he install his AAN ECU in the RS2, at least to get the car home to his house. That was based on an assumption that the T55 pin-outs were the same (I think they are). Was this wrong?

            You can do that.
It will overfuel badly, but if you gently drive, that will work as long as his AAN ecu is non-immo.

Thanks. All the North American AAN ECU are non-immobilizer so driving gently, Don should be able to get his RS2 home (about the 3 or 4th legally in North America).

The only issue is the overfuelling really.
I can send you an adjusted stock bin for RS2 injectors if you want...

But the first thing to try, before removing the ECU.
Connect with vag-com, open Immobilizer -> adaptation -> read -> save -> close.

Maybe the immo just forgot the ECU.
The keys can't really get de-coded from the immo.

Thanks so much for the reply.I did manage to get the car to the dealer, by swapping my RS2`d ECU, from my S4, but to no avail. They have to call Germany to get a six digit code to program the keys, which the previous owner does not have. They should call us back tomorrow.Fingers crossed.

                    Hi.

First post but I've been a lurker for a few years. I'm helping Don get to the bottom of this.

Please define "will not start." Don's car DOES start and run for about a second or two max then shuts down. Is this typical RS2 immo behaviour? The reason I ask is that when looking at the current flow diagrams, one of the immo relays seems to cut the signal to the TDC reference sensor. I thought that the car was supposed to continue running if that signal was lost once the engine had actually started. So, since it starts, what is actually shutting the car down?

Is the immo a read herring?

                    Cheers,
                    Brady

This is immo... cannot say much more in public obviously... the ECU needs to run non-immo software if it is to bypass the factory immo dialog...

                        Yes. Fair enough!

I'm just trying to make sure that the immo actually is the problem.

                          Bump!

                          Hi men!
                          How work the inmo?
One friend just bought an AAN ECU with some 264ps chips but she turns on and one second later, turn off.

                          Maybe that ECU has OE-inmo?

                          Thanks a lot guys!
