Anyone used a spot blast gun?

I've got a couple rust patches to tidy up before the car can be prepped for some paint, wondering whether to try a spot-blast gun to get back to clean metal.

Anyone used one of these kinda things before?

Are you refering to the little hand held units that such sand or other material from a bucket.

If so, very effective. Does use a lot of high pressure air and you get sand every where. Here is an example of before



and after 15 min work.

As for paint I have found that Jotun Penguard is best. It's hard and difficult to flat but the best to prevent rust setting in again.

just make sure you use some very good eye and ear protection, I did some shot blasting with a hand held gun a while ago and the sand got everywhere, even behind the protective glasses

Yeah it's messy and sand gets everywhere! did some with Acidburn at the old Bahnstorm garage but it was great fun!
