Genuine 1990's S model car rear bootlid "S" badges

Hello all, now this might be a bit off but here goes.
Today. I bumped into a fellow Audi nut who owns a rather nice'97-'98 Nogaro blue Audi S8.
After a bit of a chat and a nose around she explained that the bootlid badge, S8, needed replacing , as the red portion has faded away or been polished away.
She went on to tell me that Audi told her that the only badge for that car bootlid was the large S8 in chrome with the red flash on the S as we see on current S models.
I said that I was sure that someone on the forum could help to find her the correct badge which is identical to the S2 tailgate badge.
So who can help or supply the right, older type S8 badge.
She has had no joy on e-bay.
Approx 55mm long, 40mm deep and a sort of tilted squashed rectangle, sliced into 3 diagonal sections.
1st portion red with Audi rings across the top
2nd portion silver with S at the top
3rd portion silver with 8 at the top.

Umm... a dealer? or Pete Reeves (somewhere here in the forum).

So it would appear if taken at face value but 4D0853735A 2ZZ is the newer style badge. The older badge is 4D0853735 2ZZ but is was superceded to the later 'A' version on 01/06/2001. It's tucked away in the data history.

Unfortunately the dealer is right, the original badge is NLA.

driftin jo, you are quite right , I did not look very hard, she did, but when I did look I still couldn't find the badge she wants ie; the BOOTLID badge , NOT the smaller grille badge, but thanks anyway
