    Coupe Quattro bonnet wont realease.....

Hi all,im after a little help, went to open my coupe's bonnet today and the realease felt a little slack,it pulled ok and when i went to bull bonnet up it had only released from the passenger side. After much much pulling....swearing...and holding head in hands...... i cant release it. I can see a spring loaded catch on the underside just behind headlight when i pulled it up as far as it would go,and can also see the one on the drivers side, which i think is the one not releasing. Is there anyway i can release the stuck catch? Ive tried mole grips on the release handle in the car to pull it,but it only seems to be stretching the cable. Also can you take the front grill out without the bonnet up?
Please help as i was hoping to put it up for sale this week, and really dont want to destroy the bonnet.
    Thanks in advance all
    Steve
    PS its a 93 coupe quattro 2.8 V6

If you can get under it you'll see that you can unhook the other side of the latch spring.

Get somebody to push down the bonnet on the side that won't release, whilst you pull the bonnet release lever - worked for me on an old coupe

I'll third that, it worked for me to failing that, its undertray off and use a screwdriver to move the latch.

Thanks for the advice guys, got bonnet open now,and before i change the release cable is there anything i should be aware of? looks a bit of weird set up,as you look down on the bonnet release ( with bonnet open ) to release the right hand side it looks like the cable pulls the catch, whilst on the left release it looks like it pushes..............??? All from the same cable?
            Cheers in advance,
            Steve

Yup all from the same cable. On the C4 chassis cars, this often happens when the clips that hold the hood/bonnet release cable to the rad support/lock carrier break, allowing the cable housing to be pulled rather than just the internal cable. Here is some hood release info that will help you understand the issue:
