    S2 coupe aero wiper upgrade

    Hey all

After searching around and reading Paul's thread about the parts seems to stop at which blades to get. Also correct me with items I state

    Part numbers:
Arms x2: 6X2-955-409C off lupo gti
    Blades x2: 1J2-955-425A no dimensions
Then your washers and caps etc....

Is this correct for a rhd coupe for the front upgrade.

Rear seems to be trialled and completed with success

    Thanks

    Chris

      Part numbers Aero wipers

      Hi Drummer87

This what I understood was required for the S2 RHD Coupe. From S2 Central site.

      Front arms 6X2-955-409C
      Front blades two options
1J2-955-425B 470mm sits better but shorter
1J2-955-426B 530mm The arms sit a bit higher, covers the screen better but does not contact at bottom of sweep.

      Rear arm 6X2-955-410
      Rear blade 1J2-955-426B 530mm

      Plastic cap 1J0-955-205A-01C

I Am also interested in doing this mod but all I can find about it is it improves high speed cleaning. Which is good.

Does it eliminate judder how is the wiper motor after a few years of operation.

For the people who did the mod is it still as good as it was when you first did it, anybody had any problems since they did the mod.

With the longer blade does it cause an increase in wind noise.

Are there any updates to this mod?

The RS6 upgrade is better than the Lupo ones.
They have stronger springs which stops judder and means they wipe perfectly at 150+. They also look much better too IMHO

I spoke to a friend who does the ordering of Audi part for a local dealer and he gave me these part numbers for the 2003 RS6

                4b8955408b right arm
                4b8955407b Left arm
                4b8955425m Right blade
                4b8955425h Left blade

I hope Error404 can confirm these are indeed the part numbers he used.

What about just getting some Bosch Aero wipers to fit the stock arms? I paid a lot to upgrade to the aero wipers and while they work fine, they don't look as good as stock or RS6 and lifting them up is a pain with both the bonnet up and down

This is my kit, it works just fine but I think the RS6 setup above is nicer for sure and give then costs involved, best to get it right -

                    6X2 955 409C
                    6X2 955 410C
                    1J2 955 426B
                    3B2 955 425E

You could go for a sligtly different short wiper.

I got mine off S2avant a few years ago and posted about it but the thread was ruined with loads of misinformation, so it was removed from general circulation to prevent any further confusion.

Those are the correct numbers for a RHD car
you also want 2 x 1J0 955 205 A which is the plastic cap for the wiper arm nut.
You need to trim approx 50mm off the end of the passenger side blade to stop it overhanging the screen.

I recommend rebuilding your wiper linkage as these wipers do exert more force on the screen: http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...=wiper+linkage

Need to be careful on the rs6/a6 aero;s as there is a part number/model change which affected the number of splines on the arm which mate up to the bolts....same on the aero wipers on the a4 too. on the A6 I think it was before the end of MY 2001 and the front end upgrade.

The Lupo / Polo ones I got had no splines on them - the mechanism cut the splines on first fitting.
