S2 Avant Damaged :( Advise ?

Most importantly, DO NOT let them take it away, you will never see it again!
They cannot take it without your permission but will try their best to talk you into it

You own the car , they can not take it away to assess, my pal had this with his hilux last year and would not let them take the car away, they actually paid up quite quickly

I'm worried about the buy back as whilst they did offer it I haven't got a clue what they would offer,

They will offer you about 2k if you dont have agreed value with them.
What ever you do dont let them have the car.
Keep hold of the car, buy it back from them for about 10% of total value of there offer, fix the car for about five hundred, have a holiday for the rest of the money and if you have any cash left you could always buy me a drink :mischeif:

Ok an update..

Had a call from my insurance this morning to say that the girl I spoke to yesterday did not take into consideration that it is an S2 model and she probably took it as a standard oil burner Audi 80. So the upshot is that they want me to get a quote from a bodyshop of my choice and see if it is economically viable to repair.

Fingers crossed.. Next question then - anyone recommend a good paintshop in the Bristol area? Brin Jones in Filton was mentioned by a friend but have never used them.

Finally, I noticed in my upset state yesterday that I totally lost the ability to spell 'advice' - Apologies!! :-S

Cheers RustyNut, I will do. I popped over to Brin Jones in my lunch break and they are going to send a quote over. Can't be too bad a place, they had a large number of 911's and other high end cars in pieces.

They were able to pop the existing bumper on for now though the side section is not flush due to the plastic bracket being torn off the car.

I'm a bit more hopeful that things are starting to look up for once.
