    S2 Front bumper advice

This is the first time I have seen the inside of my S2 front bumper and I am concerned the picture that is showing some sort of mounting bracket looks wrong to me.

    Is that the correct bracket?

On the other picture (not my bumper) there appears to be a retaining clips, these are missing off mine. I think that is where the under tray fits into.

Can you buy these clips and glue them back on, any advice on how to fix the problem.

    Are these clips necessary?

You would never be interested in one of my RS2 replica bumpers, would you?

Seriously those factory fittings are not very strong all all.

          Shipping would kill the deal.
Could send a container of wine with a few bumpers in it.

            Hi Ryss,

I will give you a case for one

Seriously I was trying to keep the stock look on the S2.

I am looking to use the RS2 intercooler and if I cannot get it to fit behind the S2 bumper then I will give you a call.

I will most likely end up going through all the scrap yards. What other Audi/VW has the same type of clips.

            Anybody have any spare clips

Osrum the brackets are the same from an 80/90 Quattro and coupe Quattro. Rang Audi this morning for a pair for my rs2 bumper, was crossed referenced to those platforms. I'll take from my s2 or buy from Audi Tps at £8 iirc

I Know. The clips, the ones that hold the side to the inside of the fender? You can get from TopFast, Kehls etc.

                  jamie9048... You must be fit.

Guys I am not sure if I have described what I am looking for.

Firstly the bracket and if it is the correct one. I am happy that the one I have is correct.

The other problem I am talking about is more like a locating bracket glued onto the bottom inside of the bumper (I think there are five in total) it is where the engine under tray locates into its more like a locating/support retainer. It is on the bottom lip on the second picture it appears to be glued on.

Can you buy these clips and glue them back on, any advice on how to fix the problem.

I thought about drilling 5 equally spaced holes in the underside of the bumper and putting fixing screws through to the under tray itself.

The picture of the top brackets is correct as andy said, the bottom ones are sort of melted on and as such aren't removable unless they break off. I'd go with just screwing up the undertray or drilling holes and cable tying it on... or throwing it away since it just gets in the way every time you go under the car.

It took me two years to find a good under tray!!!

I am told the under tray is an important part of the air feed/cooling system.

If you look at the under tray it has two rear facing slots in the middle that cause a negative pressure point which assists the pull of the air through the intercooler and radiator, it also helps direct the air between the exhaust and gearbox keeping the gearbox cooler.

The above is what I was told, how much of the above is true I am not sure but I do think the underside looks better with it on than with it off.
