    Bonnet release issues

My bonnet would not open today but I have worked out why and sorted it:

The drivers side catch was refusing to release. On closer inspection it turned out to be caused by the passengers side catch having less spring tension so no mater how you adjusted cable the passenger side would always release first leaving no travel in the cable to release the drivers side.

The solution was to remove what I will describe as the passenger side "torsion bar bonnet catch spring" and bend it slightly to give it equal tension to the opposite side.

Now the bonnet release is silky smooth.

    Just a heads up

    cheers

Just to be clear, are you sure the little clips/guides that hold the hood release cable to the lock carrier are in place and/or the end of the cable was adjusted correctly?
