fwd shell what issues if i was to build this shell to swap s2 components onto

i ask a lot of questions but as my username suggests its the only way

i am considering prepping an 80 coupe fwd shell as a lightened caged race spec ish shell in order for me to swap s2 running gear on to.

so with my primitive knowledge, i need help to know if i shall have to change floor pan to accommodate prop shaft gear box and diff. also shock top mounts in relation to sub frame
and also if sub frames are interchangeable and any number of issues i shall come across.

No major dramas if you are converting it to a trackcar, but really you could just buy a quattro shell. On the fwd the rear boot floor is different but you might not need to alter it - you will need to fabricate mountings for the rear subframe, otherwise I think everything else will fit on just fine.
TBH if you are going down this route, start with a B4 80 saloon - it is really easy to add the quattro rear suspension setup and you will have a better handling car with a stiffer shell. Just my 2c

Assume you already have the two cars. As a track car the full roll cage will help to provide the support points for the rear subframe mountings. Removal of fuel tank and use of a fuel cell make it a lot easier to do the modification. The S2 rear subframe should fit in no problem , just a lot of fabrication required, which if you can do it yourself, will make the project viable. If you have to pay to have it done ... Big pockets required.

it is not the welding i am unsure of its alignment of the sub frames i dont intend on going slow and a wonky one can not be a good thing.

all i shall have to use is a pair of digital tracking gauges is able to do camber but not caster i think not sure they belong to a friend. some string and a couple of spirit level bubbles (contained in a cylinder with fluid), not four candles (fork handles) and no tartan paint either
