    Help need with locks

Can anyone point me to a thread or advice how to swap out the lock cylinders from the doors???

Just purchased heated locks and want to retain my original key to work the locks and the ignition.

At garage now if anyone can advice ASAP

    Many thanks Chris

you have to change the pins in the locks, its quite easy but fiddly.
Its a few years ago now since i did it but IIRC there is a circlip that holds the lock barrel together, remove that and you can then take it apart and swap the lock pins from one barrel to another. You have to be careful to take them out in the right order and orientation. HTH

Put the original key in the barrel and then it should come out, I can see the pins. Once out you can get the key you want push it into the lock. Some pins will stay hi some low. Swap them about first then file them down the last bit with the key in. Put back into the lock and see if the key turns freely. Job done. Oh and spray with wd40 before removal but be careful when you remove the pins as there are very very small springs underneath that may shoot out!

I did the pin swap on my locks recently and it's pretty simple. Swap the lock pins one by one and you'll be fine. There were circlips on the end of each of my locks.

The circlip is on the door skin end of the barrel if that makes sense

This post from vwVortex should help you (or whoever) figure out the lock pin swap:
