    cleaning ellipsoid headlights

Have anyone carried this task out or have a rough guide how to do it?

I am looking at cleaning today as lights are poor.

    Thanks in advance

I've doen mine on both the S2 and A6 and it made a big difference. Most important is to clean the bullseye lens on the ellipsoid, both mine were filthy. Just be careful when cleaning the chrome, my S2 ones were very thin and even a quick wipe brought the chrome off. The A6 ones seemed to have a much thicker coating an cleaned up well. I just used a soft tissue and Autoglym Fast Glass

Take you time too, the plastic is brittle by now and screws will easily round, it's easy to break stuff!

Yeah definitely echo the brittleness. I ended up painting most of the chrome as it was peeling off mine, excluding main beam area of course. I always seem to end up with moss growing on the end of sidelight rubber.

One of my mates used to call my 90's headlamps "fishbowls" due to the algae growth on the sides.

Camera lens brushes are good for cleaning the lens.

Sorted much better I can see again lol

About 30-45mins each light including taking them off the car. I need to replace the fixings now which hold the headlights in place. As mine are knackered.

              Good guide on audifans.

Cheers Andyp for guide and help
