Can anyone tell me what needs modding to fit these to a coupe ?
I think I have read somewhere the bases need sanding/shaping to fit the doors but what about the wiring/plugs ?
Are these plug and play when the bases have been done ?
TIA Chris
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2
When I fitted mine I took a finger sander and a sharp scrap. I put the adapters in place then lined them up. Scratched away the outline of the over hang of the base, then slowly sanded away bit at a time till they fitted.
All the screws bolts adapters and gaskets are still available I took the last of the dust caps
Also the wiring isn't plug and play. You need to match the wires according to the diagram on a site which I will dig up. But someone will beat me to it
Correct me if I'm wrong as I don't have ETKA at the moment to see if normal coupe mirrors are different to avant/saloon ones, but if you are fitting genuine RS2 mirrors then the bases should fit with the right brackets. I thought the problem was due to people trying to fit Porsche bases on Audi doors, I think the Porsche bases never fit quite right and the Audi bases are not available as a seperate part.

Sorry for bringing this up again
I thought I would have a go this afternoon with a few hours spare and start stripping down my mirrors and prepping them for a spray.
Stumped before I even started I have read somewhere about putting a thin bladed screwdriver in one of the holes underneath the mirror in order to free off the glass.
I just seems like a pudding stirrer trying to find any kind of ratchet/cog to slacken these off ?? Help ? Any tips

Just doing the exact same job. Put a flat blade screw driver in the hole closet to the glass. There is if you look in two notches one on holder other on mirror turn anti clock wise I think and then lift the glass off refit reverse.
Hmmm ! Tried that but no luck. Difficult to explain and my camera wont pick it up !
What size screwdriver are we talking 5mm or smaller ?
If I push the glass in to a position where I can see something through the hole I see lots of slots but non of them will turn in any direction

Those slots should turn, one part will be locked into the mirror frame. Yeah 5mm as long as it fits through the hole. tilt the glass until you see it thats what I did.
Tried again unsuccessfully tonight to part mirror from frame.
Some plastic I can see through the hole looks lightly gnarled and I'm still not 100% sure where exactly my screwdriver is meant to go
As yours is done already have you got a pic of the offending adjuster please Simon ?
At least then I know what I'm looking for or if its shot !
