    RS2 Vents/Fog Lights

Here is the replacement vents and golf mk3 vr6 fog lights on an RS2 bumper.

The vents don't really go anywhere behind the bumper - some work would be required cutting metal away to vent them somewhere.

And to get the big IC to fit behind the RS2 bumper I had to trim the side vents of the RS2 bumper. The S2 bumper has more room as it comes straight down, whereas the RS2 bumper starts curving back under the car.

Original vent is marked with the redline.

Very nice Doug. They look much better than the round fog lamp/half vents.

Good job, looks very neat, makes the difference when mods like that look so good as they came out of the factory.

Looks Great doug, did you also remove some bumper material at the in- and outlet of the IC ?

                  Cheers,

If you look at the third picture - the redline shows where the original vents were. I opened out the vents to clear the IC inlet and outlet (probably took 1" of bumper off at the vents) - and made sure it didn't rub on the silicon hose. That is all the cutting you need to get that IC to fit but I also cut 2 slots under the bumper for 2 struts to hold the bottom of the IC in place.

SteveH should be able to supply the vents.

I might be against the grain here, but personally I think the style of the foglights next to the vents doesn't quite work for me - the slash cut of the inside of each lamp somehow it's not the right line when you've got all those other lovely curves and verticals of the RS2 front end, which is a really nice front end it has to be said.
That's one hell of a major maw of an intercooler though! Streuth!

There must be a way for you to mount the front plate so that it's not flush against the bumper - that way you could get airflow around the sides of the plate and in to that oil cooler (is that what's there?) even when the plate is in situ?

I still think the most striking thing about Dougs car visually are those enormous wheels

Er, thats not the oil cooler. Thats still the intercooler!!
