    Paint code

As above is there anyway to find out what colour our cars were when leaving the factory
Im trying to find out if my car is crystal silver or polar silver there is no id marks in the boot with any codes. My V5 states it's Aluminium the car has had a rear end O/S respray in 2007. and it shows inside the O/S door pillar as the paint is a duller silver there and it did have a lot of overspray. I need to have a pair of new wings painted and the spray shop needs to know the right code.

look inside your manual the white sticker that's missing from your boot should also be in there. the other option is call audi and give them the chassis number. they should supply the paint code.

I would say its crystal LY7T Krystal Silver, this was the common silver used in B4 cars.
Polar Silvar is an RS2 colour and is slightly bluey.

Aluminium Silver LY7M is very similar and was used on later audis (and alloys)

I asked my friend Kate, the friendly parts girl, and she said the only silver used on the ACOQs (including S2s) was Crystal Silver-metallic, Y7T, sales code C6. She checked from 1990 to 1995.

I think I did your build tag and I remember some colour weirdness. Kate still says, that even for 1996 model year, the ACOQ silver is crystal silver Y7T. Your's is unique?
